A WANTED man who managed to evade police capture by escaping through a DIY tunnel under his floorboards has been arrested.
The crafty fugitive initially slipped past officers after refusing to answer the door.
But officers finally managed to arrest the elusive male yesterday more than a month after he originally escaped.
However, it wasn’t without incident and he again attempted to flee using his homemade square bolthole again but this time he was unsuccessful.
It's not known why the man from Leeds was wanted by police.
The West Yorkshire Police Leeds West team joked on Twitter last month: "Bolt hole that’s one way to do it. Wanted male who refused to answer the door then dropped into his DIY escape route. 1-0 to him but we will arrange a rematch soon."
