CARNFORTH railway station’s popular transport information centre is to be taken over by the Leeds-Morecambe Line community group.
The transfer was agreed by Lancashire County Council’s Cabinet after a consultation.

In February 2018 the council voted to close the ticket office to save money, prompting an outcry from rail passengers, some of whom feared they would be unable to get to grips with electronic ticket machines.
