Workington's Theatre Royal are holding a comedy night to raise money for a new lighting system.

The theatre are inviting The Happy Hour Theatre Company of Langholm to perform the comedy night on May 28, from 7pm to 8pm, with money from the event going towards the replacement lighting.

Pat Brinicombe, from Theatre Royal said: "Playgoers need to replace the very old stage lights at the Theatre Royal most of which are 30 years old.

"The plan is to install LEDs thus considerably reducing our carbon foot print."

3 by 2 An evening of comedy with Alli and Jenny will involve three short playlets, Cupboard Love and Cruise Missile by Jean McConnell and Bottled Up! An evening with Agnes and Elsie by Ben Brinicombe.

Tickets, at £10, also include a finger buffet and wine.

There is adult humour in the comedy, so the show is not recommended for under 14s.
