Access to Workington Community Hospital will be disrupted while roadwork are carrying out.

Cumbria County Council is set to begin resurfacing works on Park Lane on Monday, June 3.

The work is expected to take up to two weeks.

The road will be closed in sections while the work is carried out.

A spokesman said the sections either side of the hospital entrance would be done separately, and that access to the hospital would be maintained at all times using traffic lights.

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The spokesman added: "We apologise for any disruption caused, although it will be our intention to keep this to a minimum."
