Staff at a Cumbria estate agents have embarked on a series of charity challenges as two of their colleagues undergo treatment for cancer.
Rachel Ritson, managing director of Grisdales - which has offices in Cockermouth, Workington and Whitehaven - said staff had already raised £1500 in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
Lynne Atkinson, head of sales at the firm's Whitehaven Office, and Helen Mason, its senior sales negotiator in Workington, are both receiving treatment for breast cancer.
"We had a couple of colleagues diagnosed with breast cancer within a couple of weeks in December last year," said Rachel.
"Everybody knows somebody who is affected by cancer. Cancer is quite close to our hearts at the moment."
On Sunday Rachel ran in the Edinburgh Half Marathon in aid of the charity, while in September Workington office manager Clare Walker will walk the length of Hadrian's Wall.
Grisdales staff are also planning to take part in the annual fundraising Dragon Boat race on Windermere on July 7, as well as other events such as cake baking and a company Bodyshop Pamper Party at its Whitehaven Office.
