Police investigating a series of thefts at Cumbrian supermarkets have issued CCTV images of individuals they want to speak to.

The first store to be targeted was Booths in Penrith.

The thieves struck at around 4pm on Monday, May 6.

The second theft happened the following day, between 3:33pm and 3:43pm at the Workington branch of Marks & Spencer’s and the third at around 4:55pm at Booths in Keswick.

The images issued by police show bespectacled man, wearing a grey top over a pink sweatshirt; and a woman, wearing a white top, blue jeans, and brown boots.

She was carrying a pink handbag.

A police statement said: "Officers would like to speak with the individuals pictured as part of their investigation."

Anyone who recognises these individuals, or has any information about the incident, should call police on 101 quoting log number 257 of the May 8.
