Saturday court: Mark Goodwin admited assault
A 50-year-old Carlisle man with several aliases has admitted assaulting a woman by beating her.
Mark Goodwin - also known as Mark Reilly, Mark Salmon, and Mark Lindon Goodwin - admitted an assault on Susan Vanwin, committed on June 14. He appeared at Carlisle's Rickergate Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
Magistrates fined him £266, and imposed a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
It was decided that there should be no compensation because the defendant continues to be in a relationship with the victim, and she did not support the prosecution.
