POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding of the deaths of two young Barrow women who were found dead on the same day.

On Sunday June 2 officers were called to a house in Parry Street following the sudden death of a woman in her 30s.

Later that day police were called to a second sudden death, also a woman in her 30s, just half a mile from the first incident, at an address in Tay Court.

Police said neither of the two deaths are being treated as suspicious.

A file relating to each death has been passed to the coroner and a post mortem and inquest will be carried out in due course.

Detective Superintendent Dean Holden said although the deaths are not being treated as suspicious police are still investigating the circumstances.

He said officers are still awaiting toxicology results.

“If anyone has any information which they believe may be of use to our investigation we would ask them to get in touch,” he said.

“They can do that by ringing police on 101 or ringing Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

The Barrow community has expressed sympathy to the two families affected and tributes have been posted on social media.

Lynn Poynter said on The Mail’s Facebook page: “I feel for any family dealing with this.

“I knew both girls; my heartfelt sympathy to both families who are left in pain.”

Julie Harvey said: “How terrible, so young! Sympathies to the families.”

Amy Diane Richardson said: “So sad. Thoughts with their family and friends.

"So young. My age. Shocking.”
