A BLUSHING Bodycare employee had to be rescued by four firefighters after getting locked in the staff toilet.
A fire crew and fire manager from Barrow were called out to the Dalton Road store at around 5pm on Monday.
Colleagues had called 999 after spending two hours trying to open the door and told the fire service they had been unable to find a locksmith.
When firefighters arrived they used a specialist piece of equipment called a hooligan tool along with a door jam to prise open the door.
Station manager Mark Ducie said the crew were at the scene for just five minutes.
“We usually challenge calls like this and suggest they contact a locksmith but because this lady had been inside for two hours, and staff said they’d not been able to find an available locksmith, we responded as an emergency,” he said.
“I went to the special service callout as well as the Barrow crew.
“We used the hooligan tool and door jam so we could prise the door open.
“She’d been in there for two hours so was very relieved to be let out but possibly feeling a bit embarrassed when the door was opened and four firefighters were stood there.”
