EXTENDED opening hours will be maintained at Cockermouth Library following a six-month trial period.
The library is run by the town council which made the decision to trial the different hours in response to a petition signed by 442 people.
In December, opening hours were extended on Wednesdays from 4pm to 5pm.
Town clerk Sheila Brown told a recent town council meeting: "There's not lots of usage but people that use it are very grateful."
Councillor David Malloy said: "I think the figures show that we keep it going, it's proven that the exercise is worthwhile."
