Robinsons Fruit Shoots are recalled after a potential choking risk is highlighted.

Britvic PLC is recalling the popular children's drink after they were made aware of the issue.

The product, Robinson's Fruit Shoot Apple and Blackcurrant, has had reports that the spout, which is inside the bottle cap, could come off and become a high safety risk.

The choking risk applies to a specific batch of the fruit drink that has been sold at Costco, McDonald's and Tesco.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a recall alert saying: "Britvic PLC is recalling selected Robinson's Fruit Shoot Apple and Blackcurrant bottles as a precautionary measure because of a small number of reports that the spout within the sports bottle cap may become detached unexpectedly, which may present a safety risk.

"The product was sold as multi-packs (24 bottles) in Tesco and Costco, and as single bottles in McDonald’s, between 22 and 28 June."

The recall applies to the drinks with batch code numbers of N06 L9171, N05 L9164 and N05 L9171.

The FSA added: " If you have bought any of the above product, do not drink it. Instead, dispose of the product safely and apply for a full refund via the Fruit Shoot Consumer Care line on 0114 223 44 88 or via https://fruitshoot.com/gb/contact-us/
