A man has been arrested after a woman and two children were subjected to racial abuse in Workington town centre.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
It happened while they were walking along Murray Road at about 3.25pm.
Police say they were called to a racially-aggravated public order incident, in which a man had shouted abuse at the woman and children.
A 65-year-old man, from Workington, was swiftly arrested and is currently detained for questioning.
Officers would like to speak to members of the public who witnessed the incident.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to an officer in relation to incident number 152 of July 1.
