Police are investigating after two Workington shops and a pub were targeted by in the early hours of this morning.

Home Bargains on Campbell Savours Way and clothing shop Yours on the corner of Steelmen Walk have both been taped off by officers.

The Royal George Pub on Cross Hill was also broken into.

Money was stolen from the pub. The burglar gained access after trying several potential ways in.

Police said the burglar also made a successful attempt to gain entry to the clothing shop, which has a smashed front door.

Stock was stolen from the shop.

A window in front of a perfume window display at Home Bargains was also smashed, and a police spokesman said entry was gained to the premises.

It is understood that nothing was stolen from the bargain retailer and the display contained only empty boxes.
