A police investigation has been launched after allegations that a 28-year-old female was assaulted in west Cumbria.
The alleged assault is said to have taken place under the Phoenix Bridge in Cleator Moor, which runs under High Street.
It is said to have happened on July 5 at about 9.30pm.
A 28-year-old woman suffered head injuries.
The force believes the woman was assaulted by a group of men, one of which is described as pale skinned, wearing black clothing and a black beanie hat with a peak.
