Firefighters were called upon last night to perform a rescue operation after a man had become stranded on scaffolding.
Firefighters from Carlisle west fire station joined Penrith fire and rescue crew and Cumbria Police at about 10pm last night to rescue a man stuck on scaffolding, on Roper Street in Penrith.
"We brought him down by hand," a spokesman for Carlisle west fire station said.
The firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
