Traffic is reportedly moving freely again after an M6 truck crash this afternoon led to delays on the major Cumbrian road.
Highways England reported delays of up to 45 minutes earlier this afternoon between junction 39 and 40 on the M6, close to Penrith.
The organisation reported via social media: "Please be aware this incident is causing delays of about 45 minutes on the northbound M6.
"There is approximately eight miles of congestion.
"Please allow plenty of extra time if planning on travelling in the area and be prepared for high temperatures."
A spokeswoman for Cumbria Police confirmed that there were no serious injuries in this afternoon's motorway crash, which "involved a Fiat Ducato flatbed truck with a caravan on board.
"Police were called at approximately 2pm today to the report of an RTC on the M6 northbound between junction 39 and 40," the spokeswoman continued.
"The driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries."
