Tesco’s Whitehaven store has done its bit for a massive weekend of fundraising for Diabetes UK, Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

The theme for the weekend was Dance Beats as the company had broken a Guinness World Record for a dance marathon of over 30 hours. Tesco broke the record at Wembley Stadium in London on July 19, and Whitehaven hosted the Dance Beats event to get involved locally, raising £1,187.51.

A number of dance-themed events were held over the weekend and dancers and fitness groups, Popsteps Dance Academy, Moky Fit, Bounce Fit and store colleagues also got involved.

Service and community manager Alison Hogge thanked all customers, colleagues and Shameem Arnold from Moky Fit, Rachel Blaney, Kate Johnson and team from Bounce Fit, Cheryl Frears from Popsteps and dancers who gave their support.
