THE Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation has donated £1,000 to St. Thomas's C E Primary School Parent Teacher Friends Association in Kendal where it has been used to fund tablets for children at the school.

The association is a registered charity and open community of parent volunteers working alongside the school, teachers and other “friends” to benefit the school and ensure the best educational experience for all its pupils.

St. Thomas's C E Primary School, on Kendal Green in Kendal, used the donation to buy six new tablets to help children during lessons and at home.

Thao Do, who works at the Yorkshire Building Society local agency in Kendal, nominated the charity for the donation.

She said: “We’re committed to supporting local good causes where our members live and work, and are so pleased we could secure a £1,000 donation for St. Thomas's C E Primary School Parent Teacher Friends Association from our Charitable Foundation. These tablets provide assistance to the pupils at the school during their lessons and can be used by the children for their homework.”
