An outdoor cinema screening has been postponed ahead of a storm warning.

Adventure Cinema was due to host the Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody at Carlisle Racecourse tomorrow night.

Organisers had yesterday remained optimistic that the event would go ahead despite the weather.

However, a Met Office change in thunderstorm timings has left them with no choice but to postpone.

In a statement, Adventure Cinema said: "Due to a change in the Met Office weather forecast, which now shows the thunderstorm shifting to the evening tomorrow, we have been forced to postpone the Bohemian Rhapsody event at Carlisle Racecourse until Friday, August 23.

"We had held back postponing to try to allow the event to go ahead, as the forecast yesterday showed the weather improving in the evening with no thunderstorms.

"However, the forecast has now changed and although our events go ahead if it is raining, we must consider the safety of the event when lightening is involved.

"All tickets will still be valid for the new date and as Freddie says, the show must go on."

Anyone who cannot make the new date is asked to email help@adventurecinema.co.uk within the next seven days.
