Happy young tots throughout West Cumbria are graduating with a degree – in being well and truly relaxed.

Babies and parents of Early Days Baby Massage, run by Abi Bragg, have completed their six-week course, and can now say their lives are calmer and their sleep cosier.

During the course, Abi helps mums and dads to soothe their baby, massaging legs, tums, feet and faces, helping to relieve colic and gas, giving the “students” – and their parents – a better night’s sleep.

The touch-communication and sensory play, including interactions with mirrors and feathers, also helps to build the bond between the parent and child, as well as giving them the chance to meet other mums, dads and babies while there.

Carolyn Westnedge is just one of the proud mums who saw her son, 15-week-old Reuben, recently graduate from the Seaton massage course.

She said: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed baby massage with Abi from Early Days! The sessions are relaxed, and teach a variety of strategies to relax and help babies with conditions such as wind and reflux.”

Carolyn added: “Reuben has a massage every night before bed, and it’s helped with his sleeping, and made him aware of various parts of his body.”

Baby-mad Abi holds the massage groups in Seaton, Workington and Whitehaven, and is hoping to get babies of the area even more relaxed with her baby yoga class, starting in September.
