The Carnegie Singers marked their 45th anniversary last year – and are still continuing their celebrations.

The Workington-based community choir recently marked the fact that three of their founding members are still all active in the group.

During their anniversary meal at the Hunday Manor Hotel, Workington, the founding members were presented with a bunch of flowers and a bottle of wine by chairman Norman Brayton and resident conductor and musical director Stephen Hunter-Brown.

The founding members are soprano Marjorie Laws, alto Iris Spargo and soprano Carol Telford.

The three are all still enjoying weekly rehearsals with the choir.

n The Carnegie Singers will hold their annual Christmas concert in St John’s Church, Workington, on Saturday, December 14, at 7.30pm.
