Dancing, sports, and family fun will take over the Wetheral village green to raise money for a good cause.

The fundraising event for Carlisle Refugee Action Group (CRAG) will offer something for the entire family to enjoy.

There will be performances from the Syrian community who will be dabka dancing, as well as from Moky Fitness, and Jazz-ish.

Alison Pate, the event organiser, said: “I have worked with the families for about a year now, looking after the children while the parents have English lessons. I wanted to do more to help CRAG and all the brilliant work they do.

“They are always needing funds to support their work and I thought a fun day would not only hopefully raise funds and awareness, but it would be a really nice social event for everyone.”

There will be 20 stalls on the Wetheral village green selling items fro Usbourne Books, Enviro-Rhino, Oaktree, Arbonne, as well as bric-a-brac.

Children will be able to take part in sports competitions throughout the day.

In the event of rain on the day, there will be a cover for the food stalls.

The fun day will take place on Sunday on Wetheral green from 11am to 3pm.
