A toothbrush tube and vitamin bottle containing around 130 wraps of suspected drugs has led to an alleged West Norwood drug dealer being charged with five offences.

The packages were uncovered after the Gravesend Local Policing Team in Kent stopped a vehicle travelling along Gravesend Road, Higham, at around 4.50pm on August 13.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of cash, a lock knife and a mobile phone.

A further search at search a home in Gravesend led to officers locating the suspected drugs inside the bathroom items.

Maurice Lennon has since been charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, possessing a bladed article in a public place, acquiring criminal property and criminal damage to a door at North Kent Police Station.

The 23-year-old, of Tivoli Road in West Norwood, was remanded into custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on August 15.

At the hearing he was further remanded into custody and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on September 12.
