Olympic medalist Daniel Purvis will lead a gymnastics workshop as part of Vulcan Park Family Fun Day.
The fun day which has a superhero theme takes place on Saturday August 24. Superhero themed craft activities will be held along with football and circus skills workshop and storytelling sessions.
Admission to all activities is free on a first come first serve basis.
The first 100 children will receive free hot food or an ice cream.
During the fun day the Grow Well Community Garden and Vulcan Park's bowling club will be open. The bowling club will host free sessions with members on-hand to give tips and guidance.
The community garden will host bug hotel building and other activities. Volunteers from Newton Rigg College will help the families with gardening and composting tips.
