A MOTHER whose van - and the contents inside - were stolen from outside her home in Oulton is pleading for information.

The ex Denton Tyres van was taken from Emma Mcneil’s home on August 17 and later recovered on the border of Carlisle but the contents including a quad bike for her sons sixth birthday were missing.

The main concern for Emma is getting the quad bike back.

She explained: “Shadrack got it for his sixth birthday off one of his dad's friends as a none runner and his Uncle has only just finished fixing it.

“I had just picked it up from his house and it was in my van. My mam called to ask if someone had picked up the van and that it had gone.

“It was later recovered on the North East/Carlisle Border and when I went to Egertons with my key on Monday they checked the back and it was empty.

“We are away until Friday but all my son keeps asking about is his quad bike, the poor lad never got to ride on it.”

A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said: “Police were called at approximately 9.10pm on 17 August to the report of a vehicle stolen from a property in the area of Oulton.

“The vehicle a Ford Transit van was last seen at the property at 8.30pm.

“The vehicle was recovered on August 18. Investigations are ongoing.”

The contents that were stolen include a generator, wooden sleepers, the quad bikes and bottles of alcohol.

Emma is heartbroken for her son, Shadrack. Suffering from speech and language delay he is finding it hard.

“All he keeps saying is I want my quad bike back mam,” added Emma.

“He also gets obsessed with things and he knows that quad bike was his.

“He has been crying loads.”
