Allerdale Borough Council is reminding residents of changes to bin collections following the Bank Holiday next week.

Bin collections are being carried out one day later than usual after the Bank Holiday on Monday, and all council offices will close at 4.30pm tomorrow (Friday), reopening at 9am on Tuesday.

The Cockermouth office (located in the library on Main Street) will close at 4pm tomorrow, and reopen at 10am on Tuesday. Although the council office will be closed over the Bank Holiday, library services will remain open as usual.

Residents can check bin collection dates, report a missed collection, and check for anything that could affect collections by visiting www.allerdale.gov.uk/bincollections .

Full details of opening times for Household Waste Recycling Centres are available on the Cumbria County Council website, at www.cumbria.gov.uk.

Customers can also access many other council services via the myAllerdale mobile app or on the council website – 24 hours a day, seven days a week – including bill payments, reporting issues such as fly tipping or dog fouling, or viewing planning applications.

Details of the opening times of the council's leisure facilities in Workington, Cockermouth, Maryport and Keswick are available on the GLL website: www.better.org.uk/allerdale.

In case of emergency, call the council's out of hours service on 0303 123 1702.
