A 65-year-old man with no fixed address has been sent to prison for six weeks.
Terence Cunningham pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment before Workington magistrates last Friday.
The court heard he harassed a vulnerable man, persistently asking him for money and cigarettes and going to his home address.
A restraining order was also put in place and Cunningham was made to pay a victim surcharge of £115 and costs of £85.
