I THINK Trevor Pollard lives on a different planet (Letters, August 29, 'Give us a People's Vote').
The referendum document was clear. I voted Leave because 46 years ago the Government elected to join the EEC; no public vote on this.
Harold Wilson's minority Government in 1975 held a retrospective referendum with the question, do you think the UK should stay in the Common Market? We never voted to be in the European Union.
We then had Maastricht and John Major and then the Lisbon Treaty/Gordon Brown. We never voted to give all powers to the EU in the hands of 27 Presidents we did not know or elect.
Leave voted out; respect that, as Leave would have had to respect Remain.
