Trains are currently unable to travel south on the West Coast Mainline due to a broken down train.
No services can travel between Carlisle and Oxenholme Lake District until the freight train is recovered.
Delays are expected until 7.30pm.
Routes affected are:
- TransPennine Express between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and Manchester Airport
- Virgin Trains between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and London Euston
