A PILGRIMAGE will take place next week and everyone is welcome to join in.

It starts at Cockermouth and Keswick and goes to St Bega’s Church, on the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake.

A spokesman said: "The event reflects the commitment to Live Simply, a CAFOD campaign encouraging us to live simply, sustainably and in solidarity with the poor.

"People can walk, cycle or take the bus and join a service giving thanks for creation and praying for those committed to reversing climate change."

The service at St Bega's will be held at 1.45pm on Thursday, September 19.
