A Carlisle teenager has died following a crash near Rockcliffe.
Gavin Anthony Helps, 17, died at the scene yesterday evening.
Police were called shortly after 5pm following a one car crash near to the railway bridge at Rockcliffe.
Mr Helps was a passenger in a red Volkswagen Polo.
The driver, also 17-year-old teenager from Carlisle, and two other passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
The driver is assisting police with their enquiries.
Officers would like to speak to any witnesses to the crash and in particular, they would like to speak anyone who has dashcam footage of the car in the area of north Carlisle and Kingstown at the time before the crash.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to Sergeant 2240 Radzan, quoting incident number 175 of September 22.
