A Maryport school’s staff and pupils have raised over £850 for a charity close to their hearts.
Children at Our Lady & St Patrick’s School skipped, dressed in green and baked and sold cakes to raise money for cancer charity MacMillan.
Headteacher, Jacqueline Hampson, said two of the school’s staff are cancer survivors.
“That has made the charity a special one for us and I am absolutely delighted at the phenomenal amount raised,” she said.
“Thank you to parents, staff and our school community and to the children who took part so enthusiastically.”
The children held a sponsored skipathon.
Early years pupils baked cakes to add to those brought from home for a cake sale in the afternoon.
And children wore green to reflect the charity they were supporting.
