Seaton residents have raised £3,015 for the Pride of Cumbria air ambulance.

A cheque for £2,000 came from Seaton Village Hall’s companion dog show which took place during the summer.

Lynne Hardman raised £465 on Facebook with her yarn-bombed bike and a cheque for £550 was given to the organisation from friends and family in memory of Eric Mason Yarnold by his wife Shirley.

The money was presented to Great North Air Ambulance representative Ben McWilliams.

Seaton Village Hall caretaker Mike Thompson said: “We had a fantastic day with an excellent turnout of dogs and owners as well as a number of spectators.

“The hall was used for refreshments and a table-top sale with a spectacular raffle.

“I would like to thank all involved on the day – Caron, Gill and the judges for organising the dog show, all the helpers in the hall who worked endlessly for the day and the sponsors and businesses who provided raffle prizes.”

Lynne Hardman said she would consider offers for the bike. She said: “If anyone wishes to make a donation to the air ambulance they could have the bike – it would make an excellent display in a shop.”
