AN 18-YEAR-OLD Carlisle man has been given a two month curfew after being found in possession of an offensive weapon.
Dylan Beckham Jackson appeared before Carlisle’s magistrates’ court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to a charge of being in possession of an offensive weapon - namely a piece of wood - with which he unlawfully and intentionally threatened another person.
The offence took place on July 14 on Peter Street in Carlisle.
Jackson pleaded guilty to the offence.
The court issued Jackson, of Firlands in the Stanwix area of Carlisle, a community order.
It requires him to be under curfew for two months with electric monitoring. During that time he must be at his home address between the hours of 7pm and 7am.
He must participate in any activity specified by his responsible officer up to 15 days, or to attend appointments.
Jackson was also ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court also ordered that the wood be forfeited and
destroyed following the hearing.
