OFFICERS are asking the owner of two horses to come forward after their animals were rescued following an escape from a field in Carlisle.
Cumbria police were called at about 2.55pm today with concerns for two horses that were found at Hilltop Heights on London Road.
It is believed the horses has escaped from a nearby field in the Gilford Park area.
A spokesman for Cumbria police said: "The horses are safe, however, officers are requesting that the owner come forward in order to ensure that the horses can be placed in a secure location."
The owner is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 143 of November 15.
