OVER the past month we have been dipping into the wedding albums of Warrington couples who have tied the knot in 2019 and finding out more about the happiest day of their life.
NAMES: Rachel and Mark Dyas
AGES: 32 and 31
LIVES: Great Sankey
Where did you meet?
We met in school and then lost touch when we left school. I had a leak in my flat in Liverpool back in 2010 and Mark, who's a plumber, came to fix it after seeing a plea from me on Facebook.
The proposal:
We got engaged on Christmas Day 2017. Mark put the ring in my Christmas cracker.
I cried so much because I was so happy I couldn't eat my Christmas dinner.
The wedding:
Our wedding was a fun-filled day to remember with 90 guests on August 31 2019 at St Mary's Church in Great Sankey.
A double decker bus was supplied to take guests to Antrobus Village Hall for the reception.
On the day guests had canapes, antipasti sharing boards for starters, followed by pie and mash and cookies and ice cream. The evening meal was stone baked pizza with a pork pie wedding cake.
I planned every detail of the wedding myself and we decided to use the village hall as it was a blank canvas and meant we could source our own suppliers.
I love being creative so I made all of the signage myself using chalk paint and chalk pens, homemade fudge for favours and made a 'glitter & glow' station for the evening so everyone danced the night away with faces full of glitter and glow sticks.
What are your favourite memories of the day?
Apart from saying our vows, my favourite memories are jumping on the rodeo bull in a huge wedding dress and running across the field in the rain with the children after photos.
Did you have a honeymoon?
We went on a minimoon to Windermere. It was just the two of us the weekend after the wedding then the following week we took the children on a familymoon to Lanzarote.
Why did you want to get married?
We have two children, Jack and Louisa, a house and a dog and marriage was the icing on the cake.
We are a team and couldn't be without each other.
