A main road into a West Cumbrian town has reopened following a crash.
Emergency services responded to an incident on Gote Road in Cockermouth this afternoon.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 3.10pm today to the report of a three vehicle road traffic collision on Gote Road, Cockermouth."
The vehicles involved were a Peugeot 207, a Volkswagen Caddy and a Mercedes Vito.
A 34 year-old woman from Workington driving the Peugeot was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and she remains in custody.
Passengers in the car were taken to hospital with minor injuries: a 37 year-old man, who was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and a 40 year-old woman who was taken to West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
A third passenger, a 35 year-old woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
"There were no occupants of the Volkswagen and Mercedes."
Gote Road and nearby Wakefield Road were closed for a period of time while emergency services responded to the incident.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 14.59pm, currently at the scene is an ambulance and a rapid response vehicle."
