A 21-year-old drink-driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 15 months.
Alexander Andrew Hanson, of The Parklands, Cockermouth pleaded guilty to drink-driving before magistrates at Workington last Friday.
And he also admitted a further charge of possession of cocaine on the same date.
The court heard Hanson was driving a Fiat Punto on a road between Embleton and Cockermouth on November 17 when the incident occurred.
He had 55mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
Hanson was fined £340 for drink-driving and a further £340 for possession of a controlled drug.
He must also pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.
If he successfully completes a drink-driver rehabilitation course he could see his ban reduced by 15 weeks.
