MARYPORT rescue were called out in the early hours of the morning to reports of a despondent male in the harbour area.
At about 1.57am Belfast Coastguard alerted Maryport rescue who were quickly on scene and carried out a search of the outer harbour with a small emergency rescue boat.
Teams also assisted Maryport coastguard with searching the inner harbour and north pier areas.
Crews were then alerted that the person had been located safe and well by Cumbria police.
Teams were then stood down and returned to their stations.
