"We were deployed from two locations and battled through deep snow, very strong winds and reduced visibility to reach the casualty.
"We guided the casualty safely down the mountain walking into 50 MPH headwinds.
"The fact that the casualty followed the team's advice meant that he survived the extreme conditions until the team managed to reach him.
"After the casualty was safely off the fell the team then deployed to recover a Land Rover in deep snow and ice.
"Snow chains were fitted to both Land Rovers to enable extraction."
It took 16 volunteers eight and a half hours to complete the rescue.
