A FAVOURITE from hit ITV show The Voice is set to perform at a Cumbrian award ceremony.

Holly Ellison, who made waves during the talent contest, will take to the stage during the Diverse Cumbria Awards on May 29.

Now in their fifth year, the awards celebrate the richness and variety of the county’s communities, and the contributions that members of these communities have made to Cumbria.

Ben Volans, the event’s production manager, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Holly come and perform at our fifth-year event, as we wanted to make it bigger and better than ever, and what’s better than a fantastic bit of entertainment to end the evening?”

Oliver Hodgson, another of the event’s organisers, added: “I was over the moon when I got the okay from Ben to book Holly. She is a phenomenal artist and someone who can really support this event.

“I can’t wait to have her back in Cumbria.”

From Liverpool, Holly Ellison took the ITV competition by storm in 2018, and has been building on her following ever since. She first performed in Cumbria in March 2018.

The awards, which will be held at the Halston hotel on Warwick Road, are a celebration of dedication and inspirational action from the full range of diversity in Cumbria’s communities.

Winners of last year’s awards included the Border City Roller Derby, Kendal Unity Festival and the head of the Vistula Polish community organisation, Jarek Jakubiak.
