THIS weekend Carlisle Equality Group will have an interactive stand in the city centre displaying key statistics and infographics about inequality.

There will also be activities about inequality for families to take part in.

The stand will be open at the Old Town Hall, Market Square between 10am and 12pm on Saturday as part of the Fight Inequality Alliance global actions.

A spokeswoman for the group said: “Whether you are concerned about growing inequality at home or abroad, whether you are concerned about the potentially devastating impact of climate change, or how geopolitics contributes to the risk of ever more wars, join us to make some noise about inequality.”

Next week the world’s elites will be gathering in Davos for the World Economic Forum. The global one percent will be discussing issues such as ‘fairer economies’, ‘healthy futures’ and ‘how to save the planet’.
