Braving the bitter weather, members of mountain rescue teams from across Cumbria travelled to Cairngorm for joint winter training.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team joined Patterdale and Cockermouth teams in Scotland for a few days of specialised training.
They braved the winds and managed to practise their skills in different environments.
A spokesman for KMRT said: “Conditions were lean regarding snow depth, but this did not diminish our enthusiasm and value of the exercises undertaken.
“The first was very Scottish, we battled 60mph-plus winds and driving sleet with teams practising winter skills.
“Members trained with the Inverness Coast Guard helicopter, winching, hi-lines and general familiarisation. The other half were practising medical scenarios, avalanche techniques including transceivers and probes.”
