Relocation plans and changes for the post office in Alston are finally in place.
The post office will move next door to The Crown Hotel on Front Street at the end of February.
The move will also see the building open for an extra 14 hours per week and will bring an end to lunchtime closing.
Kenny Lamont, Post Office area change manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
Talks about the future of Alston’s post office have been ongoing for a few months now.
The relocation will also bring an open plan store layout and seven-days-a-week opening hours.
It will move to the new premises on Monday, February 24.
