Youngsters hopped on board a double-decker bus for a trip around their town.
Reception pupils at St Gregory and St Patrick's Catholic Infant School enjoyed a tour around Whitehaven as part of their learning on 'knowledge and understanding of the world'.
Charlotte Gillies, reception lead, said: "The children were really looking forward to the trip. It was the first time some children had travelled on a public bus. We think it is essential that children have a strong sense of their immediate locality.
"When we were on the bus we looked out for places we recognised. We spotted lots of key features - Castle Park, Morrisons, Aldi, St Begh’s School, the 'top shops', and lots of children enjoyed showing their house to their friends.
"It was a fantastic trip and we are very grateful to stagecoach for providing the service."
