Roadworks in a West Cumbrian village look set to end early.

Resurfacing works started last Monday on Church Road and Causeway Road, in Seaton.

The works were due to take three weeks but the county council is on track to finish either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Phase one, on Church Road, was completed last Friday, with the road being opened up for the weekend.

A road closure was then put in place on Monday to carry out works on phase two of the works, from the Church Road and Causeway Road junction to Kelsick Park.

A county council spokesman said: "We are currently working between phase two and three of the works, maintaining residential access, to ensure all the large planning areas are complete first. "

Phase three, from Kelsick Park to the speed limit sign on Camerton Road, is due to start late afternoon on Thursday or Friday, with the works due to finish Tuesday/Wednesday.
