A weather warning for rain has been put in place by the Met Office for the whole of Cumbria, barring the west Cumbrian coast.
The warning will come into force from midday on Friday until 9am on Saturday.
It will cover the entirety of Cumbria, except for the west Cumbrian coastal stretch.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Heavy rain may lead to some flooding and disruption to transport.
"Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.
"Some 15-30 mm of rain is likely quite widely in the areas covered by the warning, with 40-60 mm possible on the highest ground.
"The heaviest rain is most likely on Friday night before clearing eastwards on Saturday morning."
