A WEST Cumbrian road was forced to close because of a collision.
Police were called at 3.50pm to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the Stainburn and Great Clifton bypass.
Motorists are still experiencing delays are the A66 is closed in both directions along the Stainburn and Great Clifton bypass.
The incident involved a BMW and a Mini.
Traffic is slow from Stainburn Road to the A595 at Bridgefoot roundabout.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are all at the scene.
The vehicles are currently being recovered.
