Youngsters from two Copeland schools headed to Parliament to quiz MP Trudy Harrison.

During a joint residential to London, Thornhill and Arlecdon primary schools met with the Copeland MP in Parliament’s Education Learning Centre.

Mrs Harrison answered the pupil’s questions on life as an MP, working for the Prime Minister and day-to-day life in Westminster.

She said: “It is always a pleasure to welcome Copeland’s schools to Parliament and I was delighted to meet with pupils from Thornhill and Arlecdon primary schools to hear about their exciting trip to London and answer their questions on all things politics.

“Parliament’s Education Learning Centre is a world-class facility that inspires and connects young people with Parliament and democracy.

“I encourage all schools in my constituency to get in touch with me if they need any help in planning their visit to Parliament.”

Each of the centre’s learning spaces have been designed to replicate key areas of Parliament, including the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
