A COCKERMOUTH drama group will be staging four short plays with a seaside theme - under the parasol name of Deckchairs II.
The plays are written by Jean McConnell and directed by Cockermouth Amateur Dramatic Society (CADS) veteran Stewart Grant.
Stewart and two of the actors took one of the plays - Theatrical Digs - to the Lytham St Anne’s One Act Play Competition in August last year. They scooped three of the eight awards on offer, taking Best Play, Best Female Actor and Best Female Supporting Actor.
“We’ve had a lot of fun and worked hard in rehearsals with these four plays," said Stewart.
"They are all with a seaside setting, featuring colourful characters and tales with a twist that are, by turns, funny, touching and compassionate.
"We have some of the best of CADS’ actors taking roles in the production, including award-winners and you’re guaranteed a great evening’s entertainment."
The plays will be shown at The Kirkgate Centre at 7.30pm from March 12 to 14. Tickets cost £10 (or £6 for under-26s) from www.kirkgatearts.org.uk.
